Marketing does need to be boring – there are so many fun ways to make sure that you have a good time doing it. Getting your customers’ attention could be as simple as sending out a funny leaflet.
The key to any marketing is that it works with your brand and the audience that you want to communicate with. And, no matter what you do, you should make sure that if you are using humor, it isn’t at the expense of others – or pull your potential customers off the message.
Here are a couple of fun marketing things that you can try out:
Social Media Comps
Social media moves quickly, and if you have products and services, you can create a much bigger audience by giving something away. Keep in mind that not all of your new followers and interactions will stay around – but that your competition will give you bigger visibility.
Stick to all of the critical T&Cs for the platform you use, and when you do see increased engagement capitalize on it.
UGC
Who better to talk about your product than the people who use it? Redesigned your packaging to include hashtags and social tags so people can share their experiences. UGC is more likely to encourage other people to check out and buy than any of your own marketing will do.
In fact, some research states that just under 80% of people are influenced by UGC. Make sure that you keep in mind that millions of people watch unboxing videos, and they are incredibly popular – think of every customer as an unboxing opportunity – make it something share-worthy.
Vehicle
Gone are the days when it was only buses that had advertisements on them. Now you can get vinyl wraps for your work vehicle – so even when you are doing your weekly shop, you will be active advertising. If you have a fleet of vans or cars and they aren’t wrapped, it is an excellent investment to make.
Mystery Boxes
If you run a product company, and you are sometimes overstocked or struggle to get rid of some products, then combine them with other products for a mystery box. Mystery boxes have a special way of creating FOMO.
People love a surprise; usually, the boxes will be of higher value than buying the products separately. One of the coolest things for businesses is that mystery boxes are usually limited edition, and because of that, people are more likely to buy them.
Influencers
You should do some research to find the right influencers for your business – but have some fun with it. Have loose guidelines, but let the influencers create content around your products in their own way.
Or present them with something fun to share or an event where they leave with goodies back (it is a good idea to work with other companies to create something exceptional).
