For anyone who has ever been to Wyoming, it might be obvious as to why people would want to get out of the state at any cost. The wind blows constantly, at an average elevation of more than six thousand feet, it can snow at any moment and the winters are brutal. It can also be lonely with a population of only 200,000 people. There are only a handful of cities and even the state capitol isn’t very large by population or even land area. The vast majority of Wyoming is relatively wild and untouched. Mining, oil, and cattle are the major industries in the state. All of this has led to a situation where people are killing themselves en masse and the state is trying to take steps to lower the suicide rate and make Wyoming’s people feel better and more at home. In this video, we’re going to learn more about the crisis.
