Tips For Moving to A New Office Space

HomeMoney & EconomyBusinessTips For Moving...

Perhaps you’re moving from one office to a bigger and better space, or you are moving your home-based business to an office in preparation for your business growth.

New office space is exciting – but first, you must get there! You’ll need to have the number for great commercial movers lined up and ready. As for the rest, let’s take a look.

Planning

When it comes to moving all of your most expensive business devices, furniture and everything else you need, the last thing you will want to do is wing it.

Instead, you’ll need to carefully plan how you will pack everything, what needs to be unpacked first and how you want everything laid out.

Start planning early so you can have a date where you need to disconnect all of your services and have them reconnected elsewhere.

Tasks

If you have friends that can help you, assign some tasks to them so that during the day or over the few days, everyone knows what they are going to do and how.

For businesses with staff, make sure that each of your team has a list of things they need to do and what they need to pack.

When they box and unbox their own devices and desk, they are responsible for their own items and ensure that nothing is lost or damaged.

Interior

Before you get into the office, you can have an interior designer come in and work through the space. Make sure that you give them a good indication of what you need, what your business does, and more.

It means that the walls, floor, and many accessories are already done. All you need to do is add the furniture back in – or have the furniture that you want to compliment the room ordered and ready to be delivered.

Little touches

To make your new office feel like a place you want to work and clients would love to visit, the little touches make all the difference. Plants, both real and fake, are colors that are known for productivity and energy.

Think about everything you need to do your work with the highest focus and comfort.

Address change

Ensure that you have some letters typed up and ready to go and the phone numbers for all the companies you need. Sending out letters and following up by phone can be time-saving and means you can quickly check things off the list.

Remember that you’ll need to change all business cards, return labels, and business cards.

Non-essentials

Anything that is not essential can be moved ahead of the main bulk of the items, and this is usually stuff you can move: basic office supplies, storage, bins, and more.

Keep in mind that to have one of the most straightforward moving experiences, keep everything labeled too!

If you can’t afford an interior designer, there are plenty of things you can do to make sure your office is exactly what you need: Office Design For An Inspiring Work Space – The Cameron Journal.
