SUVs are becoming wildly more popular as the years go by. It seems like everyone is purchasing them these days, all for different reasons.

But which are the best electric SUVs on the market right now? That’s actually quite a hard question to answer. There are so many new models coming through, and many of them have ranges that are competing with the previous best-in-class options. Furthermore, the amount of money going into them is enormous, so consumers are getting a much better experience than just a few years ago.

Who is making the best all-electric SUVs in 2025? And which model should you buy?

Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y is the first vehicle most people think of when considering all-electric SUVs. It was arguably the first and has been through multiple tweaks since its initial launch almost a decade ago.

Currently, the range of the standard Model Y is 320 miles, which is pretty good. It also has Tesla’s autopilot system, plus a 15-inch touchscreen, which makes it feel premium.

There’s also a substantial support network. Tesla has garages everywhere.

Lucid Gravity

Next on the list is the Lucid Gravity. This SUV is aiming squarely at the luxury market with pricing to match. Part of its appeal is its energy efficiency. It’s capable of going more than 450 miles on a single charge, but also packs massive power when needed, thanks to its dual 800 hp motors.

As for practicality, it is also pretty good on that front (as are most SUVs). It has over 112 cubic square feet of space and recently received awards from industry bodies for innovation and reliability.

Mercedes EQA

The Mercedes EQA is another vehicle in this category worth considering. It offers a host of perks, including a long range, newly designed exterior panels, and unique chassis.

Basic models come with all the modern conveniences you’d expect. There are electric front windows, front fog lights, heated door mirrors, heated front seats, and power-assisted steering. As such, it is a family-friendly and commute-friendly vehicle that also offers a lot of power.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Another option is the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This vehicle has recently been through a mid-cycle refresh, which means that it now comes with a larger battery, giving it longer range. It’s also considerably more affordable than a lot of electric SUVs, bringing it into range for the vast majority of people.

The fast-charging is the main selling point. It can go from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, which means that it is practical to charge it en route at a service station. It also has one-pedal driving for long journeys.

Lastly, you might want to check out the Kia EV9. This vehicle offers three rows of seats and absolutely loads of space. There’s reasonable power from the 379 hp dual-motors and it comes top-rated for families.

There’s also a pretty decent towing option if you want to move boats or caravans around. The weight limit is set at 5,000 lbs.
