America’s Newest Threat? Climate Change

In an excellent bit of political commentary, Beau of the Fifth Column demonstrates that while the rest of the Federal Government under Trump is busy denying climate change, one department, defense, is under no such illusion. DoD has been talking about the threat of climate change for quite some time. There are multiple threats that involve moving military bases farther from shore to combat sea-level rise or planning for climate change based migration. Although the evidence for man-made climate change is interesting, one thing is clear: the planet is changing we have to adapt how we are living on space ship earth.

The other reason I enjoy this video is that he shows how a narrative about something can deeply affect how people think about it. I’ve said for quite some time that one of the things wrong with climate change is the narrative. The narrative about it is all wrong. Enjoy the video.
