The West has been soaking up Russian money for 20 years, and no one has been on the take more than the City of London. Oligarchs have stashed cash in British banks, bought up real estate, and bought up major brands and companies. The UK government has never stopped this and often has encouraged it. However, now with Russia becoming a pariah state, the hypocrisy of calling out Putin while not seizing property and money is glaring.
