In the online world, social media is rapidly becoming the number one place for customers to find their new favorite business.
After all, social media is more likely to grab your attention and suck you in. No one spends hours on Google just to see what might come up next.
Getting onto social media is the best course of action for many small businesses. However, once you’re on social media, picking up new followers and getting noticed is another battle entirely.
But that doesn’t change the fact that social media is the best place to get your marketing campaign underway.
And if you’re not quite sure why you should focus your efforts here, these are the reasons you need to know about.

It’s Much More Approachable
Social media is more of a parcel, whereas search engines and websites feel like different pieces of a puzzle you have to fit together yourself.
You need to have a website, of course, but social media is usually a much more approachable place to get your marketing campaign underway.
And if you use the two together, you’ll have the best amount of coverage between userbases. After all, you can link back and forth in multiple places, and even feature social posts on your website for as much easy access as possible.
It’s Easier to Track Engagement
If someone lands on your profile page, they’ll leave some very direct signs as to what led them there. This is much harder to track in a step by step manner when they find your business through a search engine.
After all, they might like a post or video you put out. If they then like a few other posts of yours, you know they’ve liked your content enough to come to your page.
If they also happen to press follow at any point, you know for sure you’ve captured their attention. But you can get a deeper level of insight here as well.
You can also track your instagram recent followers and the like to see which exact post is bringing in the most views and engagement. That can be hard to do for your website if most visitors are simply landing on your homepage.
There’s a Lot of Creative Tools
Social media tends to let users create separate personal and business pages, and even accounts, if need be.
As such, there’s different tools for different needs – and they’re right there to use in your creator suite. No need to offload to another app (although you’re well within your rights to) or rely on outside tools to try and put a post together.
From video editing tools to filters and crop edits, there’s a lot you can do with even a basic toolkit that can be found on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
When you want to market your brand new small business, social media is likely your first port of call. And there’s good reason for that: it’s approachable, adaptable, and creative.
