Why Do So Few Live in This Part of the Gulf Coast

In this video, we’re looking at the geography of people. Geography by Geoff has identified an area of the Deep South near the Gulf Coast where it seems like no one wants to live. So why are people, who are busily moving to the sun belt, avoiding the gulf coast? I can come up with a few reasons: it’s too damn hot, hurricanes, and very few jobs outside of oil and the military. Although, this zone includes Houston which is a dynamic and modern city. So in this video, we’re going to see what is up with the Gulf coast and why more people aren’t moving there.
