Here’s something that you might find pretty relatable; you’ve spent months navigating baby name debates, battling heartburn, and Googling things like “best swaddles” at odd hours of the night. Sure, life is a mix of excitement, anticipation, and yeah, pure exhaustion as well. You deserve a break. Seriously, you really do deserve a break! Maybe you’re hoping to have the perfect trip, just like what you see a lot of mommies-to-be have on social media.
But maybe you just can’t have a full-blown two-week vacation that requires a second mortgage (especially with maternity leave is just around the corner), but a weekend getaway should help though, right? But maybe two or three days to hit pause could be worth it, it gives you the chance to breathe, and remember what it’s like to enjoy some peace and quiet before baby boot camp begins.
Not Everyone Can Get Their Vacation Days Approved
It’s best to just get real for a second. While yes, a full-blown babymoon sounds great in theory, for most people, it’s about as realistic as the due date on your birth plan. Who has the energy, or the funds, for a long, elaborate vacation with maternity leave creeping around the corner? Again, a one to two-week vacation can be hard to secure, and chances are even higher that you’ll get them denied because you’re going to have maternity/ paternity leave a few months down the line.
But a weekend getaway, though? Well, that’s a whole different story. There’s just no need to pack your entire closet or book a flight that has you waddling through TSA. You can toss a couple of comfy outfits in a bag, drive a couple of hours, and you’re there. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it still gives you that much-needed escape from the endless parade of baby prep.
It’s All About Location, Location, Location
The beauty of a weekend babymoon is that you don’t have to go far to feel like you’re a million miles away. Actually, it’s all about choosing the right spot, a place that feels special without the added stress of a complicated itinerary. Why not go somewhere that isn’t a long flight, train, or car ride away? Why not head to Delaware?
Just think about it, there are some lovely hotels in Wilmington Delaware, that can accommodate expecting couples. Just staying in a nice hotel (luxury to be exact) is its own little adventure because you can be pampered in the hotel, you can indulge in a fancy dinner, and yeah, collapse in a bed that feels like it’s made for royalty. Seriously, why stay at a crumby Airbnb when you can actually have something nice?
There’s the Uninterrupted Time
So, what’s one of the best parts about a babymoon? Well, it’s the chance to actually spend time together. Just think about it; there’s no nursery prep, no baby registry drama, no interruptions. It’s just you and your partner, soaking up a little quiet before life turns into a delightful, sleepless whirlwind. Besides, this is the perfect time to get some “me time” too, like a prenatal massage, room service, or a warm bubble bath.
