Chrysler was briefly owned by Daimler in the early Aughts and the only good thing about the acquisition was the 300C. They took an iconic nameplate and created a car worthy of the name. When I was in high school I had the promotional booklet for the car. I don’t remember how I got it but I had it and I would spend hours looking at it and wishing that I could whizz by on the roads in a car that was so bold, so cool, and so classic. As cars, go it had a long run with 6 generations from 2005 to 2023. Back in the 1950s, the 300c was Chryslers big sedan and the modern remake was similar. However, as sedans (at least American sedans fall out of favor, the 300c is getting cut. I have to say that I shed a tear for it because it was my favorite car. I never bought one because I didn’t really fit in the car and it had a low head line that was hard to fit my six foot frame under. In this video, we’re going to see a history of the car and why Chrysler is giving up on this holdover from Daimler.
