Samantha Bee is often called the new John Stewart, especially as she got her start on his show doing observational and humorous commentary. I’ve collected her best videos for you to enjoy. In this tense, post-Trump environment, if you are a thinking person who needs someone to voice what you’ve been feeling, Samantha Bee is just the person you need to be watching.

A Few Thoughts

Personally, I hope they extend her to a full hour here soon. I’ve read that her ratings are modest at 300,000 viewers but her reach is expanding and she is having a huge pop-culture moment that can only increase the people watching her over time. I also find it interesting that it takes comedy to create the conditions for some of the best journalism on TV. I know everyone misses John Stewart but the sad reality is that he has moved on to the projects. I think Sam is doing a tremendous job of putting conservatives in their place and making liberals feel at ease. The best part is that she doesn’t let progressives off the hook. She has held her banner high and called on us all to get out and start organizing to stop the dangerous agenda being pushed from Washington. It’s one of the best half-hours on televisions.
