Are you thinking about starting your own business? If so then you need to give thought to the ideas that are out there and how you can use them to your advantage. If you want to find out more then simply look below.

Handyman

One good business idea to start in 2025 would be to work as a handyman. Handymen are known for their ability to fix both big and small issues all around the house. Whether it is a leaking pipe or whether it is something as simple as painting a wall, they tend to be good problem-solvers. If you believe that you are cut out for this kind of role then you need to try and pursue it. When you do pursue a role as a handyman, you will soon find that there are several opportunities out there and that you can make a lot of money from it. Even better, you don’t need a lot of start-up capital either. From the outset, you will need to make sure that you have enough to buy a lot of tools for one specific job, and from there, you can use your profit to invest in further tools. If you do this then you will notice that it is easy for you to get the result you need out of your business. As you begin to get better at business, you can also expand into other roles, and this is a very good way for you to not only make a lot of money but also build a client base and ultimately do what makes you happy.

Within this role, you can also venture into things like gardening. Whether you have experience in gardening or even landscaping, you can easily work as a local gardener. Some of the jobs you can do under this umbrella include mowing lawns and planting bulbs. You can also try to trim hedges and make sure that your clients have everything they need to have a nice and well-maintained space. You can also go and build commercial clients if you want, and this is a very good way for you to not only get more money but to also make sure that you are actively pursuing different financial avenues.

Self-Storage

Another thing you can try and look into would be creating or managing a self-storage facility. The best thing about doing this is that you can make a lot of money from long-standing tenants, and on top of this, you can also cater your facility so that it meets a specific need. One thing you can do is try and go into specific types of storage. It may be that you provide conditions for people to store wine for example, as there is certainly a market for this. You can also provide short-term storage as well as the opportunity to store cars. If you want to do this then it would be wise for you to look into building a multi story self storage facility, as by doing this, you can make sure that you are covering all of your bases.

Window Cleaner

On a simpler note, you can also look into being a window cleaner. Today, window cleaning can be done with special pipes and detergents so that the highest windows can be reached without having a ladder. You can also do this for domestic clients, or you can choose to serve commercial clients instead who want to freshen their windows and have a brighter space. Of course, window cleaning has a very low start-up cost and this is great, to say the least. You will need something to take your equipment with you, and you will also need to make sure that you have a solid brand. You can usually do this by hiring an online marketing agency so you don’t have much to worry about there. At the same time, you can also look into cleaning gutters. When you clean gutters you will soon find that there is a real market as every home and business has guttering of some sort. If you can keep this in mind then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to not only get the result you want but for you to also make sure that you can provide a service without much upfront cost for yourself. You do need to make sure that you have insurance, and you will also need to build your client base but other than that it is a good option.

Vended Laundry (laundromat)

Vended laundry is the sector that covers any self-operated laundry services, such as laundromats. These are crucial businesses in the local sector, as many people have low or no access to reliable washing machines and dryers.

And opening up a vended laundry business is not only a boon to your community. It’s a hands-off, yet reliable way to make a profit. As expert David Shulick notes, the vended laundry industry is expected to be worth billions in 2025 and beyond.

Customers pay per wash, sort their own washing, and then come back when they need to put another load on. As long as your machines make garments sparkling clean, without any damage sustained during washing (and very few break downs during cycles!), you’ll capture a very loyal customer base within your own area.
