This is a special message to all my writing following and others who might be interested in an exciting contest. With up to $5,000 in cash prizes available, this contest is a great way to get your work out into the world and possibly win money!
The contest accepts excellent short fiction across all categories (no poetry or screenplays). We had a great crop last year across all genres from romance to inspirational as well as LGBTQIA+ and horror. The best part about this contest is that you are eligible (once qualified) for the SOOP anthology program which includes publication and royalty from sales.
Word counts should be under 5,000.
There are two ways to qualify:
- Get 50 votes on your story once it is submitted to the contest
- Pay the contest fee
This contest is great because there is a free option for those that need it and a pay option for those that might struggle getting 50 votes or don’t want to worry about it.
This contest is unique because qualified entries are read first by our team of handpicked curators, and then four entries (first, second, third, curator’s choice) from each category are sent to the final round of judging by SOOP staff. It should be noted that not being selected to win a cash prize in the final round does not preclude you from being part of the anthology program.
