When it comes to buying a gift for someone who has everything, this can be a challenge, especially when it comes to luxurious items – the last thing you want to do is buy something and have to return it. But, with the right thought process and giving yourself plenty of time, there is always something you can buy; you just need to think outside the box sometimes.
The trick is to think about a gift which is beyond the ordinary, and when we say this, we mean something that could be personalised, an addition to something they already own (for example, custom bimini tops if they own a boat) or something rare, which is hard to get.
To help give you some inspiration, we have put together a quick guide on buying a luxurious gift for the person who has everything. We hope we can give you some inspiration on something nice you can buy for your close ones.
A personalised gift
A good place to start is a personalised gift. Personalised gifts are perfect as they are thoughtful, and there is a good chance they haven’t had something similar. Think of something you know they are interested in and then see if you can personalise it. For example, if they enjoy whisky, you could buy a personalised bottle or for someone who enjoys watches, a personalised watch.
An experience
Another option to go down would be the experience route. Experiences create memories that last a lifetime and, like a personalised gift, show you have put a lot of thought into the present. A luxurious experience could be a helicopter ride, a wine tasting experience or a meal at an award-winning restaurant, such as a Michelin-starred one. When buying an experience, make sure it lasts a year; this way, they have plenty of time to use it. Plus, make sure you buy a couple of the add-ons, this way it seems more luxurious, such as a bottle of champagne with their meal.
An exclusive membership
Depending on where they are based, an exclusive membership in a place they really enjoy would be ideal. Exclusive memberships are something a lot of people won’t buy themselves, even though they would really enjoy them. When buying an exclusive membership, you could buy one for yourself so that you can enjoy it together, or buy two memberships so they can go with a loved one. A good example of an exclusive membership in London would be Soho House. Alternatively, you could find an exclusive health and fitness centre.
When you start looking into luxury gifts for the person who has everything, you may be surprised that there is a lot to choose from that you haven’t thought of before. What would you recommend as an excellent gift which is luxurious? Will you be buying one of our suggestions above? Is there anything missing from our guide that you think we should be adding? Let us know in the comment box below, we look forward to hearing from you.
