Step 1 – Find your passion in life

The first step to finding your dream job is to consider what your passion is in life. For example, you could check job listings like these: https://www.scsengineers.com/careers/job-openings/florida-environmental-jobs/tampa/

What would you happily do for free and not get bored with every day? If you can find something that ticks this box, you know you’re in the career you’re meant to be. Do you enjoy being on the computer or on your phone and find all tech fascinating? Perhaps a career in coding or marketing could be for you. Do you love cooking at home? Why not become a chef?

Step 2 – Consider the skills you’ll need for this career

Once you have an idea of what you want to be, it’s time to figure out the skills and attributes necessary to make yourself a good candidate for the position. Do your research online, looking at job listings to see what people are after. If you don’t have skills that are on their list, you should work to build on these and find examples you can give that show your aptitude in that area. You could take part in online study groups, sign up for courses or do research online to help you grow your knowledge in particular areas.

Step 3 – Build connections and network

While a lot of finding your dream career is down to your skills and what you know, it can also really help with who you know. Try and build up your connections as they will help you find job openings and put you in touch with the right people in the industry. This can help you to get your foot in the door and be that one step closer to landing your dream career. Go to networking events and look on social media sites like Linkedin and Facebook groups.

These three steps should really help you to land your career and find a job you love in no time. Remember that it’s no easy feat getting into your dream job and you shouldn’t feel disheartened if it takes a while. Sometimes starting at the bottom can feel a bit debilitating, but everyone started there at one point and every day you’re one step closer to a promotion and building your career up and up.
