Eastern Oregon Wants to Join Idaho

Oregon is a typical west coast blue state and the people on the eastern side of the state, which is more conservative and tends to vote republican, is tired of living in a deeply blue state. Their plan to get away from the liberal ideas coming out of Portland and Salem is to leave Oregon behind and join Idaho which is a red state and votes republican, just like them. This sort of thing isn’t unheard of (hello West Virginia) but it hasn’t happened since the Civil War. Will these wannabe red-state voters get their way and join Idaho?
