I wrote a longer article about this a while back but wanted to post this video either way. This guy has moved overseas and argues that the American Dream doesn’t exist in the US anymore and that if you want to make your way in the world, it’s going to happen somewhere else in the world. I’m not sure I’m completely on board with that plan, but I do get where he is coming from. For years and years, I followed digital nomad newsletters and experts, hoping I could eventually find a way out of the country. I never did accomplish that, but I do understand how much cheaper it can be to live elsewhere. That greatly appeals to people looking for better weather or just the chance to live in a great place for cheap. I know several folks who have left. Mexico City and Medellin have become popular hot spots for people seeking a different lifestyle for less. I’m not ready to give up on the American Dream, but his argument is compelling.
