How do you create the convenience of a train with the flexibility of a bus? Trams that run on roads but on fixed routes with dedicated lanes of course! Building trains can be expensive but building new roads doesn’t have to be and existing lanes could be repurposed for these trams. Building stations would be no worse than building a bus station and these new trackless trams from China are fully autonomous which means there is no need for a driver. China has already deployed them to connect high speed rail stops to the rest of the cities that they serve. I think this could be a great solution. Tell me what you think!
