Corporations are Flexing Their Power

In this great video by Adam Conover, he talks about how corporate greed has completely ruined the American economy. He argues that it has made everything more expensive, and harder to get (like Taylor Swift tickets) and has left consumers with seemingly fewer options and less stuff available. He has a bit of an axe to grind, considering his show was cut in the Discovery Warner merger, but he is not wrong. I’ve been talking about this very problem for years. When you allow corporations to buy and sell each other and combine into ever larger companies in the name of “efficiency” you end up with monopolies and oligopolies that just squeeze the public for every red cent. In this video, we learn more about this problem and the tentative steps by the Biden administration to do something about it.
