Caldor and Ames Stores

I’ve always enjoyed the story of retail from days gone by. I used to post a lot of Dead Mall content and other stuff. It’s amazing all the places that used to exist to buy stuff and shop. It’s rather sad that everything has been reduced to an app. Either way, this video is about Caldor and Ames. We didn’t really have those in Colorado or Arkansas so I don’t think I ever shopped in one. I was vaguely aware of Ames from my many travels but I don’t think I ever went into one. In the heyday of big box retail, these were minor plays but well-loved and remembered. I always find it interesting how we can get attached these stores of old.
