The US housing market has slowed down significantly, and according to Mansion Global, homes are selling at the lowest rate in 2019. The median time a home was on the market was 34 days, but it’s now sitting around 47 days.

For real estate agents, this can prove to be quite the challenge for new listings. You want to get them seen, and you want to book viewings as soon as possible, but with the market seemingly stagnating, what can you do to ensure that you get eyes on listings and greater success?

This post is about looking at a few effective ways real estate agents can boost their listings for the best chance of success.

Photography

Photography and videography are what will get people to book a viewing. This has always been the case, but these days, pictures are more important than ever.

Start with great pictures first. This means not relying on your iPhone to get the job done but investing in professional imagery to capture each property in its best light. Hiring professional real estate photographers and investing in real estate photography editing will ensure you hit the mark with your imagery, boosting your confidence in your marketing approach.

Videography and Virtual Tours

Reinforcing the need for exceptional imagery, if you really want your listing to stand out, you need to focus on including virtual tours and video graphics for your listings and your social media accounts, too. From 3D walkthroughs to short videos highlighting interesting features, etc., you can give buyers more of a sense of the floorplan, flow and style of the house so they can better imagine themselves and their belongings in the property.

Online Sells

Did you know that these days, over 90% of buyers check online real estate listings before anywhere else? That means they won’t come directly to you, they will head online to start their search. If your website isn’t optimized or your listings are somewhat lackluster, your listing will automatically be overlooked. This highlights the urgency of optimizing your online presence to attract buyers.

Online users and your online listings are your first and possibly only chance to make a good first impression. This means compelling descriptions, excellent photographs, clear contract details, appealing aesthetics, and a functional site are non-negotiables. Emphasizing the need for compelling descriptions will make you more engaging to potential buyers.

Tell A Story

You should not leave your pictures to tell a story on their own. You need to narrate this to capture people’s attention and guide buyers through the space.
A simple caption like “spacious kitchens with a quartz countertop and custom lighting,” accompanying a picture of the kitchen, can be more enticing than simply putting the picture up. Explain what is in the image, point out details, and draw people’s attention to the potential within the property and how they need to book a viewing. You want to focus on the emotion-pull here, and good copy, along with some visuals, can do exactly this for you.
