Yes, it’s possible to enjoy life all year round, but let’s be honest — it’s that little more straightforward in the summer months when the days are long and the weather is warm. During those moments, simply spending time outdoors can be satisfying. And if there’s a healthy dose of fun and adventure involved, too? Then it’s even more enjoyable.
A summer of outdoor adventures won’t happen all on its own. You’ll need to make it a reality. In this post, we’ll run through a few tried-and-tested ideas that will help make this summer one to remember.
Rent a House by the Lake
Looking for a relaxing, adventure-filled way to spend your vacation time? Then heading to the lake for a week or two might be just the idea you’ve been searching for. Spending some time next to a body of water — it can be a lake, ocean, or river — does more than give you and your family a convenient way to cool off when the temperatures begin to climb. It can also be the springboard for untold adventures, be it hiking, kayaking, or long bike rides. And then there’s the whole matter of sitting outside under a blanket of stars. It’s what summer was made for.
Camping/RV Adventures
Want something that offers all the awesomeness of renting a lake house, just with a slightly bigger sense of adventure? Then tent or RV camping could be just the ticket. Packing up your vehicle and going on a camping adventure is great because it offers a nice mix of relaxation mixed with adventure, plus, since there are campsites and RV parks all across the country, you can set up camp in a different location every few days if you want to. After a couple of weeks of spending your time outdoors, you’ll be in no rush to head back to civilization. Many RV campgrounds also offer a wide range of amenities that make outdoor living more comfortable than ever–think hot showers, electricity hook-ups, fire pits, and even playgrounds or community events for families. Some are nestled in national parks or scenic forests, giving you unbeatable access to nature right from your doorstep. Whether you’re a seasoned camper or trying it for the first time, staying at an RV campground makes it easier to enjoy the great outdoors without giving up too many comforts of home.
Look At Local Outdoor Adventures
You don’t always need to set off an adventure to a distant land to get your dose of outdoor adventure. In all likelihood, you’ll have plenty of awesome places located within easy driving distance of your home. As summer approaches, look at doing a bit of research to see if there are any state parks you haven’t yet visited, and then make a place of action to visit all of them during the summer months. You might be surprised by just how much adventure you can find just by driving an hour or two.
Make The Most of Your Backyard
Finally, remember that you have an outdoor playground right on your own property if you use it correctly! Your backyard holds unlimited potential for you and your friends and family to live summer to the fullest. We’re thinking of BBQs, outdoor cinemas, and simply spending the day soaking up the rays. Look at investing in some outdoor essentials now (such as a BBQ, outdoor games, and lounge chairs), and you’ll have everything you need to really embrace the summer season at home once it’s in full swing.
