Life Is Unpredictable: 8 Contacts You Must Have On Your Phone (And Why)

HomeLifestyleLifeLife Is Unpredictable:...

There are some things in life that we can predict and plan for, but there are also many things that are completely unpredictable. One thing that we can all agree on is that life happens, and sometimes it throws us a curveball. That’s why it’s important to be prepared for anything by having a solid emergency contact list on hand. In this blog post, we will discuss eight contacts you should have on your phone (and why). Keep in mind that this list is just a general guideline – you may need to add or remove people depending on your specific situation.

Parents/Guardians

These are the people who have been there for you since day one. They will always be there to support you, no matter what. Even if you’re an adult, your parents are still your emergency contacts. They’ll always be there for you, no matter what. Don’t have a good relationship with your parents? That’s okay – choose another trusted relative or family friend who can step in as a surrogate parent during an emergency.

Spouse/Partner

This is the person who you are closest to in your life. They will be there for you through thick and thin. Your spouse or partner should be one of your first contacts on your list. They know you better than anyone and will be there for you no matter what happens. If you’re not married or in a relationship, choose a close friend or family member who can fill this role. Don’t have anyone close enough to fill this role? That’s okay – choose someone who you trust implicitly and who has your best interests at heart.

Doctor

Your doctor is the person who will be able to give you the best medical advice in an emergency. If you have a specific medical condition, make sure to include your doctor’s contact information on your list. They will be able to give you the best advice on how to handle an emergency situation. Don’t have a regular doctor? That’s okay – you can include the contact information for your local hospital or urgent care center instead. No matter what, always make sure that you have some kind of medical professional on your contact list.

Lawyer

A lawyer may not be the first person you think of when it comes to an emergency, but they can be a lifesaver. If you find yourself in legal trouble, your lawyer will be the one who can get you out of it. They will also be able to give you the best advice on how to handle the situation. Depending on the situation, you might need a car crash lawyer, a criminal defense lawyer, or a family law lawyer. Don’t have a lawyer? That’s okay – you can include the contact information for your local legal aid society instead. No matter what, always make sure that you have someone on your list who can give you legal advice in an emergency.

Insurance Agent

Your insurance agent is the person who will be able to help you with any insurance claims that you need to file. If you have a car, homeowners, or renter’s insurance, make sure to include your agent’s contact information on your list. They will be able to help you with any claims that you need to file in an emergency. Don’t have an insurance agent? That’s okay – you can include the contact information for your insurance company’s customer service department instead. No matter what, always make sure that you have someone on your list who can help you with your insurance claims in an emergency.

Financial Advisor

Your financial advisor is the person who will be able to help you with any financial problems that you might have. If you have a lot of debt, make sure to include your financial advisor’s contact information on your list. They will be able to help you negotiate with your creditors and come up with a plan to get out of debt. Don’t have a financial advisor? That’s okay – you can include the contact information for your bank or credit union instead. No matter what, always make sure that you have someone on your list who can help you with your finances in an emergency.

Therapist

Your therapist is the person who will be able to help you with any mental or emotional problems that you might have. If you suffer from anxiety, depression, or any other mental health condition, make sure to include your therapist’s contact information on your list. They will be able to help you in an emergency situation. Don’t have a therapist? That’s okay – you can include the contact information for your local mental health crisis line instead. No matter what, always make sure that you have someone on your list who can help you with your mental health in an emergency.

Local Emergency Service Provider (Police, Fire, Ambulance)

Including the contact information for your local emergency service provider is a no-brainer. If you need to, you can always call 911 in an emergency situation. But, if you have the contact information for your local police, fire, or ambulance service, you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle. No matter what, always make sure that you have the contact information for your local emergency services on your list.

Why it’s Important to Have an Emergency Contact List

Now that we’ve gone over some of the people who should be on your emergency contact list let’s talk about why it’s so important to have one. Having an emergency contact list is important because it gives you a way to get in touch with the people who matter most to you in an emergency situation. If something happens and you can’t get to your phone, or if your phone is lost or stolen, you’ll still be able to contact the people who you need to. Another reason why an emergency contact list is so important is that it gives you a way to get in touch with people who can help you in an emergency situation. If you need help, don’t hesitate to call on one of the people on your list. They’ll be more than happy to help you out.

No matter what, always make sure that you have an emergency contact list handy. You never know when you might need it. Do you have an emergency contact list? If not, now is the time to make one. Include the people who you think would be most important to contact in an emergency situation. And don’t forget to keep it updated! You never know when someone’s phone number might change.
