Everyone knows about Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada as the ultimate monster of a boss. We’ve all had that exactly boss who is just perfect in the all the worst ways leaving the rest of us mere mortals to pale in comparison. However, rather than just seeing Miranda as monster boss who instills fear in her employees, what if there is another dimension to Miranda. What if she is the ultimate professional? What if she expects the same level of perfection and drive from everyone around her that she expects from herself? What if she is someone to emulate rather than fear?

In this video, I pulled out a whole new view of Miranda Priestly. I’ve been Andy (Anna Hathaway’s character) in an office. The young person working at a job because it’s there and not really caring about what I do or the details of it all. I know what it is like to exist but not really work as hard or try as hard as one could try. I’ve also been that person who is climbing a ladder that they don’t even know that they are climbing. I don’t know that I would ever really want to be Miranda Priestly but her work ethic, attention to detail, and high standards are the type of professionalism that is laudable. By the end of the movie Andy is beginning her own journey to be that professional. I learned quite a bit from this video and it made me rethink some of my past mistakes and it made me rethink how I’m doing things now. It is a must watch.
